Tests to be conducted on Reflux Valves :
Hydraulic test:
High Pressure Orifice Seat Test:
Subsequent to high pressure on fice performance test, hydraulic pressure shall be reduced up to half of the working pressure to check leakage of orifice seat for a duration of three minutes.
Low Pressure Orifice Seat Test:
Subsequent to high pressure orifice performance test, hydraulic pressure shall be reduced up to half of the working pressure to check leakage of orifice seat for a duration of three minutes.
Body Test:
The valve body (without cover, ball floats) shall be covered by a blank flange, keeping isolating valve/cock open. Hydrostatic pressure of 1.5 times the pressure rating of the valve shall be applied for a duration of 5 min to check the water tightness of the body.

Resilient Seated Cast Iron:
MARKING :
Each valve body shall be permanently marked with a plate securely fixed to the body with the following information:
a) Nominal size;
b) Nominal pressure rating:
c) Type of valve:
i) Single air valve S1, S2, etc
ii) Double air valve OS1, DS2, etc
iii) Kinetic air valve (DK)
d) Manufacturers name or trade-mark; and
e) Sl No. and year of manufacture.
NOMINAL PRESSURES:
Reflux valves shall be designated by nominal pressure (PN) defined as maximum permissible gauge working pressure (MPa). The nominal pressure for the various sizes shall be as follows:
